A DAMP SQUIB

simplicity
simplicity
there's nothing beats simplicity

it strikes you on your feeling jaw
with crackling electricity

these clever stunts are such a bore
they make my ears and fingers sore
their violent clashings as of war
are wearisome and make me snore
such strident voices I'll ignore
their company I will abjure
these intellectual
ineffectual

heartless feats

of schizoid drab duplicity

.... with apologies to Musica Nova of Glasgow, one wet Saturday afternoon, after a concert of squeaks and bumps ....
